BREAKING NEWS: No on Nelson for Game One
June 4th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |Barring this just being more propaganda in the Magic’s psychological warfare, Jameer Nelson will not play tonight according to the Orlando Sentinel (until they change their minds again later).

This will be the only time we might see Jameer Nelson in uniform this series
This is definitely the smart play for Orlando. They have no doubt ruffled the Lakers feathers a bit with this Nelson shell game and affected their game preparation to a certain degree. And now the Magic can go out tonight and play with the same chemistry and game plan they have relied upon all post-season. If things work out for them, great. No need to fix what isn’t broken. If they get their ass kicked, they know they can break the glass in case of emergency and deploy Jameer Nelson as a secret weapon later in the series.
As a Laker fan, I am definitely relieved because now Derek Fisher won’t have to wear a flame-retardant uniform to prevent himself from getting burned by Nelson all night long.
UPDATE 4:30 PM: Now the Magic have changed their tune and Nelson will dress for the game and is likely to see some action. This is what I get for trusting an out-of-town newspaper.

You think Phil Jackson’s been awake for this shell game?
Hey if Gary Payton was “The Over Mitt” during his final days in LA…what’s Fisher?
By Garrett Wilson on Jun 4, 2009
No, I don’t think Phil has been awake, but Rambis and Hamblen do a fine job controlling his marionette strings.
I hadn’t thought about a nickname for Fisher but if I had to come up with one off the top of my head I would go with “Flounder” for his exceptional flopping skills.

Fisher’s nickname should be “Gone Fisherin’” for his lack of production in the post season.
