Lakers Linkage – 6/10/09
June 10th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- Damn the police. The LAPD potentially jinxed the Lakers yesterday by sending out a pre-emptive e-mail to start planning the Lakers championship parade.
- Kobe’s failure to close out Game 3 is already being attributed to him being too tired. Maybe that is why he also failed to help Pau Gasol up off the floor at the end of the game.
- So much for the lack of LeBron rendering this NBA Finals match-up unwatchable. The ratings for the two games are almost exactly the same as they were for last year’s much-watched Finals.
- Charles Barkely still doesn’t think this is a series yet.
- Marcin Gortat is in trouble with Reebok, who he has a shoe deal with because they only just realized he has a Nike Air Jordan tattoo on his right calf.
- A little levity after the loss, Sun Yue jokingly (I hope) says he can take Kobe one-on-one.
- Jordan Farmar is raffling off a trip to Game 4 of the NBA Finals with the proceeds going to his charity.
- J.A. Adande breaks down the coaching advantage Phil Jackson has over Stan Van Gundy. I didn’t know there was a question about who had the edge.
