BREAKING NEWS: Jackson Back In Action?

Or at least that is the story according to ESPN who claims have sources saying that Phil Jackson returning to the bench next year is a virtual certainty. Phil hasn’t yet made any public declarations himself as his early July deadline to make a decision draws near, but ESPN’s story provides some solid confirmation on what many had expected to happen for a few weeks now.
Clearly this a great news for the Lakers, especially in light of their recent signing of Ron Artest who will now be much easier to keep under control with league’s preeminent master of the mental side of hoops on board to keep the Tru Warier in line. Artest aside, Jackson’s return is a major boon to a team that now has a giant target on their backs and still has some unanswered questions about their mental toughness to be able to handle the tall task of repeating. As trusted as potential Jackson replacements like Kurt Rambis and Brian Shaw are, maintaining a consistent voice, especially one as immensely respected as Jackson’s, will be vital to a team that now must find a way to fight the complacency that comes with winning a championship.
UPDATE: Jackson was just on Fox Sports Radio and made it official, he is coming back next season!
