Laker Linkage – 7/13/09
July 13th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- Rockets’ head coach Rick Adelman has nothing but praise for Ron Artest. Then again, what do you expect him to say? He’s not about to give Artest bulletin board material for next season and if he does think Ron-Ron is crazy, he isn’t going to tip off the Lakers to it just yet.
- There will be a few signings tomorrow at local retailers for the release of the Lakers’ championship DVD.
- The Lakers are offering Lamar Odom “a little north of $8 million.“ That is less the LO wants, but with Portland set to use their cap space elsewhere, Odom has no leverage left even ig he tries to arrange a sign-and trade.
- Assistant GM Ronnie Lester gives some credo to the theory that Sun Yue, who’s contract is not guaranteed, could be released to achieve their desire to get their roster down to 13 players. This would be good news for Jordan Farmar fans as releasing Sun greatly increases the chances that the Lakers won’t sell Farmar to a team with cap room (like Memphis).
- One blogger is tired of all the Odom negotiations and wants the Lakers to quit screwing around and get him signed now.
- Mitch Kupchak talks about Odom and definitely seems to want him back too. So what’s the problem, Mitch? Isn’t it your job to get the deal done?
- ESPN’s Ric Bucher believes that Artest is still a problem but that the Rockets covered it up and it may be Yao Ming who spilled the beans on Ron-Ron’s covert craziness.
