Laker Linkage – 7/17/09
July 17th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- Now that the Jazz have announced they will match the offer sheet Portland extended to Paul Millsap, they are back in the market for a big free agent and everyone thinks Lamar Odom should be at the top of their shopping list. Thus far the Blazers are being awfully shy about reaching out to Lamar Odom, but one Portland sports columnist sure isn’t.
- This is totally unfounded and I haven’t seen them follow up on it as of yet, but TheLakersNation.com is reporting rumors of LO being on the verge of accepting a 4-year, $36 million deal. The story is over 12 hours old now, which is eons in blog time, so I am pretty skeptical of the report, but stay tuned.
- Kobe let it be known that he has reached out to Lamar Odom to try and convince him to re-sign.
- Eric Pincus wonders if it is already too late for the Lakers to get Odom back.
- Interesting tidbits on the Buss family’s involvement with Odom, Jeannie was in Vegas and was behind on the news of talks breaking off and Papa Jerry is vacationing in Hawaii right now which would seem to indicate that the Lakers are well off from striking any kind of deal with Odom.
