Laker Linkage – 10/8/09
October 8th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- The Story: Ron Artest’s biggest challenge as a Laker will be to fit in as a role player. The Fire Says: I’ve been saying that since day one. Ron’s off-court shenanigans get all the press, but it will be interesting to see how well Artest adapts to being a third banana. Personally, I think he can make it work for a year or two before the wheels start to come off.
- The Story: A letter from a blogger received a very angry response from Ron Artest. The Fire Says: Speaking of Artest’s off-court shenanigans, Ron-Ron didn’t take to kindly to the blogger’s take on how badly Artest could screw up the Lakers and told him to “suck a [expletive].” This is the first appearance of “crazy-angry” Ron so far in LA which is far more troubling than all the “crazy-eccentric” Ron moments we have seen. Let’s just hope we won’t see “crazy-angry” Ron again for awhile.
- The Story: Can Kobe win the MVP award back this year? The Fire Says: I don’t doubt that Kobe can if he really wants to, but I also think any individual quest for glory will be detrimental to the overall success of the club.
