Laker Linkage – 10/9/09
October 9th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- The Story: Lamar Odom has no problem being the sixth man again. The Fire Says: LO says why fix it if it ain’t broken, but given how butthurt he got over the “respect” shown to him during his contract negotiations, let’s hope he stays cool with the idea.
- The Story: All Phil Jackson could say about why Luke Walton didn’t play Wednesday was, “cuz.“ The Fire Says: This sounds like mental games from Jackson, perhaps Luke isn’t working as hard as he should be this pre-season, but that seems pretty out of character for Walton.
- The Story: More trouble on the Odom front as pictures have surfaced of him allegedly smoking weed. The Fire Says: An NBA player smoking pot is hardly big news, but it could be big trouble for LO who has been suspended under the anti-drug policy before.
- The Story: Kobe Bryant’s jersey is still the top seller in China. The Fire Says: That just goes to show how popular Kobe is that he can sell more jerseys than Yao Ming.
- The Story: Kurt Rambis stated that Phil Jackson was all in favor of Rambis taking over as Laker head coach. The Fire Says: That just confirms what everyone kind of always knew.
