October 16th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- The Story: Lamar Odom suffered a shin bruise in last night’s pre-season game. The Fire Says: He got kicked in a scrum last night and did not return to the game. It seems that this kind of injury shouldn’t prevent him from starting the regular season.
- The Story: Rumors are swirling that Vanessa Bryant is being pursued as a new cast member for The Real Housewives of Orange County. The Fire Says: Uh oh. No good could possibly come from a Laker wife starring in a reality show. I have a hard time believing Kobe would allow this, but he may not be making all the decisions at home anymore after the incident in Eagle.
- The Story: Laker Legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar embarrassed himself on Celebrity Jeopardy last night. The Fire Says: Kareem got a question about a line he said in the movie Airplane! wrong. And, no, this wasn’t a skit on Saturday Night Live.
- The Story: The Lakers defeated the Kings 98-92 in Las Vegas last night. The Fire Says: The Lakers were once again led by Andrew Bynum who scored 24 points in 32 minutes. This is becoming a habit for Drew and I like it.
