Laker Linkage – 10/19/09
October 19th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- The Story: Vegas oddsmakers are setting the over-under on Laker wins for the regular season at 62. The Fire Says: That is the highest of any team in the NBA and a very tempting over bet to take since many think this Laker team has a real shot at winning 70 games.
- The Story: Ron Artest needs to get more involved in the offense. The Fire Says: So true. Ron-Ron has been invisible offensively all pre-season, though he did show some signs of life in Sunday’s game against the Clippers. It isn’t necessarily why the Lakers signed him, but he needs to contribute a bit more at a minimum.
- The Story: Sasha Vujacic is finding his shooting stroke. The Fire Says: The Machine apparently finally found a mechanic and is now shooting 57.9% from the field and has made half of his three-point attempts. Now he just needs to carry this success over into the regular season.
- The Story: Kobe Bryant shot down rumors that his wife would be joining the cast of “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” The Fire Says: Well, that’s a relief. One less potential distraction for the Lakers.
- The Story: Charley Rosen breaks down the triangle offense. The Fire Says: Just in case you needed a refresher course before the regular season begins.
