Discussion: Tony Gaffney
October 21st, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |This week’s discussion for all you fans out there is should Tony Gaffney make the Lakers’ opening night roster? He played solidly during summer league, acquitted himself nicely in limited minutes during the pre-season and has impressed Kobe and Phil. But has he done enough to get the Mitch Kupchak to go back on his promise to only use a 13-man roster this season?:
A) No way, he’s a scrub and it won’t be worth the salary and matching luxury tax money that is will cost the team to keep him.
B) Let him hang around for a few weeks until Luke Walton proves he is healthy and then cut him before his salary become guaranteed.
C) Keep him, you can never have too many young, athletic, defensive-minded players around, just in case.
SECRET OPTION D) Waive him, the Lakers already have a token white guy in the form of Adam Morrison.

Hold on to that jersey, Tony. You might not get to wear it again.
