Laker Linkage – 10/22/09
October 22nd, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- The Story: A Nevada bunny ranch owner claims that Jerry and Johnny Buss are regulars at his brothel. The Fire Says: I guess Jerry like Vegas for more than the gambling, eh? Some might try to paint this as being bad for the Lakers’ image, and it isn’t great, but a lot of NBA players do a lot worse than visiting a LEGAL brothel on occasion.
- The Story: The Lakers waived guard Thomas Kelati. The Fire Says: And then there were 14. Tony Gaffney still seems to have an outside shot at making the team, meanwhile Kelati seems destined to head back to Europe this year.
- The Story: The details on Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian’s pre-nup are allegedly available. The Fire Says: I fail to see how this has any impact on the team, but maybe everyone can rest easy knowing that Lamar won’t lose his shirt in the inevitable divorce a few months from now.
- The Story: Andrew Bynum is day-to-day with a strained rotator cuff. The Fire Says: Bynum and injury are two scary words for Laker fans to hear, but mercifully the injury is both minor and not to his knees.
- The Story: Luke Walton is back practicing, but his sore back cost him some stamina. The Fire Says: With his minutes expected to be limited anyway, Luke won’t miss that extra stamina all that much.
- The Story: Kobe Bryant admits he still has a rough relationship with Phil Jackson but the two of them have reached an understanding. The Fire Says: It is actually quite interesting to see Kobe be so honest and not just saying the right media thing. Check out the rest of the article as there is quite a few interesting insights dropped by the Mamba.
