Laker Linkage – 11/4/09
November 4th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- The Story: Josh Powell has earned Phil Jackson’s trust with his spot-up mid-range shooting. The Fire Says: I have a hard time believing any Laker reserve has earned any trust from the coaching staff at this point.
- The Story: Dennis Rodman thinks LeBron James is better than Kobe Bryant. The Fire Says: Before you put any stock in that assessment, keep in mind that he made it on the “Judge Jeanine Pirro” show where he was suing his assistant for gambling away some of his money. I hear next week he will be breaking down the impending collective bargaining negotiations on the “Let’s Paint, Exercise and Blend Drinks” public access show.
- The Story: The tabloids are reporting the Sasha Vujacic might be dating tennis start Maria Sharapova. The Fire Says: Sasha pulling quality wool is nothing new, but this is the first famous female he has allegedly bedded that I can recall. At least she isn’t a Kardashian.
- The Story: Lamar Odom says Ron Artest is helping him quit his candy addiction. The Fire Says: The strangest thing about the story is that Lamar actually needed someone to introduce him to the concept of eating oranges.
- The Story: Pau Gasol could be returning in the very near future. The Fire Says: Gasol’s MRI results are back but the Lakers are keeping them quiet. Still, Pau reportedly went through a good workout yesterday, so the results must have been good which could mean Pau will be back sometime in the next week.
- The Story: Despite early season close calls, With-Malice.com likes what he sees. The Fire Says: Nice to see that I am not the only one who isn’t scrambling for the panic button just yet.
- The Story: OKC head coach Scott Brooks believes the Lakers are now a physical team. The Fire Says: Take that with a grain of salt because the Thunder calling someone physical is like Lindsay Lohan calling someone wholesome.
