Game Countdown: TGIF, I’m Out – Grizzlies @ Lakers

November 6th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |

Memphis Grizzlies (1-4) @Los Angeles Lakers (4-1)

Game Info: 7:30 PM PT TV-Fox Sports West  Radio-710 AM, 1330 AM

THREE Questions:

  • With both Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol not expected to play, will the Lakers be able to handle Memphis’ beefy frontline of Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol?
  • On a scale of 1 to 10, how sad is it going to be a legend like Allen Iverson playing for a perennial loser like the Memphis Grizzlies?
  • How bad will the Laker bench be tonight since Josh Powell (aka the only member of the bench mob who hasn’t been terrible) is likely to get the start tonight?  Do we really need to suffer 15+ minutes of Mbenga?  Ugh.

TWO Predictions:

  • Lamar Odom hangs 30 points on the Grizz as the Lakers repeatedly exploit the fact that Zach Randolph hasn’t played a lick of defense since he was 6 years old.
  • The Lakers empty out the bench entirely tonight with even Adam Morrison getting a few minutes of action.

ONE Wish:

  • I wish for the Lakers to not got to overtime for a change, you know just to shake things up a little bit.

ZERO Tolerance for… a loss.  Yes, the Lakers are short-handed and not playing all that well to begin with, but the Grizzlies stink out loud.  Memphis is coming off back-to-back losses to the putrid Kings and awful Warriors, so I don’t care what excuses the Lakers have, there is no real reason for this game to even be close.
