November 10th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- The Story: Luke Walton and Shannon Brown have been putting in extra work lately in order to earn back some playing time. The Fire Says: The work paid off with their performances in Sunday’s blowout, but they’ll need to continue to play well and do so in games that aren’t blowouts if they want their minutes back.
- The Story: Did someone already figure out how to stop Kobe’s post-up game? The Fire Says: Right, like Kobe won’t make adjustments once he finds out what the scouting report is on him.
- The Story: Phil Jackson wants to limit Derek Fisher to playing 25 minutes per game. The Fire Says: A genius move. I almost wish I had thought of it a week ago. Oh, wait, I did. Now it is up to Jordan Farmar and/or Shannon Brown to step up and perform in the other 23 minutes that Fisher is on the bench.
- The Story: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been battling leaukemia for the last year. The Fire Says: The good news is that apparently it was caught early so Kareem’s prognosis is supposed to be very positive. Best wishes go out to KAJ.
- The Story:Andrew Bynum is hopeful of returning to game action this Thursday, but Pau Gasol is not. The Fire Says: Pau just can’t shake this hamstring injury and the previous good feelings from his positive medical tests are fading fast. It could be a while yet before he returns to action.
