Laker Linkage – 11/17/09
November 17th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |- The Story: Pau Gasol returned to practice on a limited basis and is hoping to make his regular season debut this Thursday. The Fire Says: And that will be not a moment too soon. Getting Pau back is exactly the shot in the arm this wavering Laker clubs needs right now.
- The Story: Luke Walton will be out the next six weeks with a pinched nerve in his back. The Fire Says: Luke’s balky back brings him down once again. Expect to see a lot more Josh Powell and even some Adam Morrison over the next several games as a result. Although I think that right about now the Lakers are going to be wishing that they hadn’t cut Tony Gaffney.
- The Story: Should the Lakers try and sign Allen Iverson? The Fire Says: It is a nice idea at first glance but AI will never be happy coming off the bench and isn’t exactly the kind of player suited to play the triangle since he would have to play point and can’t really shoot the three that well. Still, if the Lakers want to get some more reliable backcourt offense from their bench, AI is easily the best available option.
