Game Countdown – 12/15/09: Lakers @ Bulls
December 15th, 2009 | by Garrett Wilson |
VS.
Counting down to the Lakers-Bulls game wondering if Kobe can bounce back.
Los Angeles Lakers (18-4) @ Chicago Bulls (8-14)
Game Info: 5:00 PM PT TV-KCAL Radio-710 AM, 1330 AM
THREE Questions:
- What kind of shape will Kobe Bryant be in after suffering from a stomach virus last game and still coping with the fractured finger?
- How will the Lakers respond after losing badly the game before? Will they use that Utah loss as a wake up call or just chalk it up to a bad night and struggle with focus and energy again in this game?
- Will the Lakers actually remember to pass Pau the ball tonight?
TWO Predictions:
- Shannon Brown gets extended minutes at point guard tonight. Phil has been reticent to let ShanWow man the point, but he could find out real quick that Derek Fisher and Jordan Farmar can’t slow down Derrick Rose, so he’ll give Brown a shot at containing him and I think he will like the results.
- The Lakers win and start a new winning streak that will reach the double-digits.
ONE Match-up to Watch:
- Joakim Noah vs. Andrew Bynum. Noah is a quick, energetic and active (which is a nice way of saying he is a chirpy pain in the ass) rebounder and defender. Bynum only seems to want to move when he has an opportunity to score but has the bulk to overpower Noah if he so chooses. Either Bynum is going to pound Noah into submission or Noah is going expose Bynum for being the lazy, selfish player he has turned into in the last two weeks.
ZERO Tolerance for… any more of “Hot” Rod Hundley. Are you really telling me the Lakers couldn’t find someone else to fill in for Stu Lantz? Hundley spends the entire game mumbling in sentence fragments and has absolutely zero chemistry with Joel Myers. The guy sounds like my uncle when he watches the game at the local sports bar half in the bag.
