Lake Show Countdown – 2/8/10: Spurs @ Lakers
February 8th, 2010 | by Garrett Wilson |
VS.
Counting down to the Lakers-Spurs game wondering which Lakers will actually play.
San Antonio Spurs (29-20) @ Los Angeles Lakers (39-13)
Game Info: 7:30 PM PT TV-TNT; Radio-710 AM, 1330 AM
THREE Questions:
- Will Kobe and or Bynum be available for the game tonight? The Lakers could really use the both of them against the Spurs but at the same time, the team might be better off in the long-run by resting them both.
- Can the Lakers avenge their 20-point loss last month? The Lakers have homecourt this time, but their defense was simply horrific back in San Antonio.
- Will Phil Jackson still find a way to make a crack about how ugly he thinks the city of San Antonio is even though the game is in LA? This has no bearing on the game, I just find it funny.
TWO Predictions:
- Shannon Brown scores 15 points as he tries to take charge of the offense off the bench again tonight. Unfortunately, he scores those points on 4-of-13 shooting.
- The Lakers give it a valiant effort but run out of gas in the fourth quarter and a let a small lead slip away down the stretch.
ONE Match-up to Watch:
- Derek Fisher vs. Tony Parker. After seeing how much trouble the Lakers had defending Chauncey Billups and Ty Lawson, I am deathly afraid of what Parker might do to the Laker defense tonight.
ZERO Tolerance for… excuses. The Lakers might very well be without Bryant and Bynum, but they shouldn’t allow themselves to use that as an excuse for not playing well. The Spurs aren’t as good as they used to be but they are still a serious threat and the Lakers could use a win against a contender after getting railroaded by the Nuggets.
